En el PNM diseñamos nanomedicinas (nano-objetos + molecula de alto o bajo peso molecular), donde los nano-objetos son preparados a partir de lipidos extraidos de Arquebacterias hiperhalofilas (AH) que viven en salinas de la Patagonia, Cuyo y Norte de la Argentina (nanovesiculas conocidas como AH arqueosomas y estructuras relacionadas); hibridos nanoparticulas metalicas-organicas (vesiculas lipidicas/nanoparticulas de oxido de Zn (ZnO) o nanoparticulas de oro (Au) o legos polimericos (tecto-dendrimeros). At the NRP we face the conceptual design of nanomedicines (nanomedicine= nano-object + small or macro molecule) where the nano-object is made of archaeolipids prepared with lipids extracted from Hyperhalophile Archaea from Patagonia, Cuyo, center and north west Argentine salt pounds (nanovesicles known as archaeosomesHA, and related nanostructures); hybrid organic-metallic nanoparticles (lipid nanovesicles /metal oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles or metal (Au) nanoparticles) or a polymeric lego (building tecto-dendrimers with commercial dendrimers as units). The tools we use for structural characterization of our nanomedicines are quasielastic laser light scattering, HPLC, HPLC-MS, NMR, FTIR, confocal laser microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, fluorescence spectroscopy, TEM, SEM and diverse modes of AFM and flow cytometry...
